Without further ado (or heel dragging while I get my website JUST SO), I’m delighted to announce that Jessica R. Mitchell Development Consulting is open for business!
I’ve actually been consulting and coaching since I left my VP of Advancement role at Samaritan House last August, when I dragged my husband, child and dog away from sun-soaked San Mateo, CA and back to my hometown of “partly clahdy” (but with way more going on than you think) Pittsburgh, PA.

In the last nine months, I’ve been fortunate to continue working with Bay Area organizations by:
- coaching mid-career and established leaders
- providing interim direction
- establishing major gift programs
- conducting fundraising audits
- developing donor communications

My dream is to keep contributing to the Bay Area nonprofit ecosystem as a consultant and coach, while also establishing myself as a resource for Pittsburgh nonprofits.

Some days, I miss being part of a team. But, focusing on strategy and expediting nonprofit leaders’ journeys to fundraising mastery and authentic servant leadership is deeply satisfying and really, really fun.
A long time ago I took one of those “what kind of professional are you?” quizzes. It told me I’m an “advocating creator,” which, as it turns out, was pretty spot-on. If you’re looking for a development and communications coach and or/consultant, please reach out. I would love to help you/your fundraising efforts become the best version possible.
Warmly,
Jessica
